The defense forces repulsed Russian attacks on the northern part of Bakhmut on Saturday 18 March. In addition, the Ukrainian defenders made 13 attacks on the areas where the invaders were concentrated.

Note that the aggressor country continues to conduct offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiiv, Marin and Shakhtar directions. Bakhmut remains the epicenter of hostilities. Not having the desired result on the battlefield, the Russian Federation uses terrorist tactics against the civilian population. It is bombing cities and villages, as well as critical infrastructure facilities, ignoring the rules of international humanitarian law.
During the day, the enemy launched 5 rocket attacks, 4 of which were against civilian infrastructure objects of the city of Zaporizhzhia. The enemy also carried out 12 airstrikes and launched more than 20 attacks from salvo missile systems. The likelihood of enemy missile attacks throughout Ukraine remains high.
On the Volyn, Polis, Siver and Slobozhan directions operational situation has become. The enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, but the formation of offensive groups has not been detected. The training of units of the territorial troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at the training grounds of the Republic of Belarus continues. During the day, the enemy shelled the Oleksandrivka settlement areas of the Chernihiv region; Kharkivka and Starikove – Sumy and Chervona Zorya, Veterinarne, Strelecha, Staritsa, Vovchansk and Velikiy Burluk in the Kharkiv region.
On the Kupyansk and Lymansk directions the enemy keeps trying to break through the defense of our troops. He conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of the settlements of Dibrova, Verkhnokamianske and Spirn. He carried out artillery shelling in the areas of Putnykovo, Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Hryanikyvka, Kupyansk, Krokhmalne and Berestov settlements of the Kharkiv region; Novoselivske, Nevske and Bilogorivka – Luhansk, as well as Spirne and Fedorivka in the Donetsk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut the enemy does not stop trying to capture the city of Bakhmut. Our defenders repulsed enemy attacks in the Orihovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka and northern part of Bakhmut areas. In particular, Vasyukivka, Zaliznyanske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanovske, Chasiv Yar, Kurdyumivka, Ozaryanivka and Severny of the Donetsk region were subjected to enemy shelling.
On Avdiyivskyi, Marinskyi and Shakhtarskyi directions the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of Kamianka, Severne, Pervomaiske and Maryinka settlements. Kamianka, Lastochkine, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Georgiivka, Nevelske, Maryinka, Vugledar and Velika Novosilka of the Donetsk region fell under enemy fire.
On the Zaporizhia and Kherson directions the enemy conducts defensive actions. In particular, Olhivske, Chervone, Gulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, Novoandriivka and Kamianske of Zaporizhzhia region were targeted. The city of Kherson was next bombed.
During the day, the Defense Forces of Ukraine aviation carried out 6 attacks on the areas where the invaders were concentrated. Also, this day, our defenders shot down the enemy UAV “Shahed-136” and units of missile troops and artillery hit 7 areas of concentration of enemy personnel and military equipment in one day.
Recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the base of the occupiers in the Kherson region, killing more than a hundred soldiers of the Russian Federation.
We previously reported that the past day’s Ukrainian defenders eliminated 880 Russian invaders and destroyed 14 enemy UAVs, five tanks and seven armored vehicles.
