#1 – BMW plans six new class models
BMW, once a pioneer of electromobility with the i3, is returning with a model offensive: From 2025, the manufacturer plans to launch at least six models within 24 months for electric cars of its new class. The new vehicle architecture will begin in the high-volume core of the BMW brand with the so-called Sports Activity Vehicle and sedan in today’s 3-series segment.
#2 – VW brand raises e-sales targets for 2030
VW has raised its sales targets for electric cars in Europe and North America. In Europe, by 2030 instead of the previously planned 70 percent to 80 percent of VW cars sold will be purely electric. In North America, the goal by then is for a 55 percent share of electricity — 5 percent more than last planned.
#3 – Volkswagen shows the small electric car ID.2all
With the ID.2all study, Volkswagen presented a glimpse of the ID.2 last night in Hamburg – as well as VW’s new design language. The production version of the small electric car is planned for 2025, after which it will be as spacious as a Golf but as cheap as a Polo. At least that’s what VW says.
#4 – Jelen: Car sharing with e-cars in Stuttgart
As part of a pilot project, car-sharing provider Deer launched a free-floating service with 100 e-cars in Stuttgart. So far, Deer has focused on car sharing at stations in rural areas.
#5 – Leasing Program for Fiat 500 Electric
Fiat is offering its 500 Elektro in Germany until the end of March under extremely favorable leasing conditions. Electric cars that can be ordered as part of this promotion can be delivered immediately. Selected model versions are available for both private and commercial customers, starting with the entry-level Fiat 500 Elektro Action.
