Six Nations Tournament: France bring the essentials against Wales and expect a misstep from Ireland

The French team won widely this Saturday, during the 5th and final day of the Six Nations Tournament. The Blues are once again level with Ireland in the standings and can still hope to win the Tournament.

Before the match between Ireland and England (Saturday 6:00 p.m.), the French team did the work and put themselves in a position to win the Six Nations Tournament by beating Wales.

But, to win the Tournament, the Blues will have to count on an Irish defeat on their ground against the English traumatized by the rudeness received at Twickenham last week against… the French team.

The Blues have thus fulfilled their condition to aspire to win the double in the great European rugby competition thanks, once again, to a bombastic attack.

During this match, the French XV side Thomas Ramos became the new best French director of the Six Nations Tournament, with 82 points, on Saturday against Wales. Before the match at the Stade de France, on matchday 5 and the last matchday of the 2013 edition, Ramos (27 years old, 25 teams) was twelve points behind the record held until then by former Clermontois Gérald Merceron, 80 point author. at the 2002 Grand Slam. He topped this performance in the 50th minute with a transformation during the match against XV du Leek, his fourteenth point of the match.

During the 2023 Tournament, so far he had scored three tries, twelve transformations, six penalties and one drop. However, the Toulouse player remains at a distance from Englishman Jonny Wilkinson, author of 89 points, including a try, during the 2001 edition. Irishman Ronan O’Gara is third in this ranking with 82 points (including four tries) surpassed in 2007 .
